Commitment to the renewable energy sector

In late March 2022, RSK Group’s Chief Executive Officer and founder Alan Ryder announced the group’s acquisition of Absolute Solar and Wind, saying that the esteemed environmental business was continuing to “grow its presence in and commitment to the renewable energy sector” and how Absolute is vital to this strategic aim by “opening many doors” for dozens of group-affiliated businesses across the UK.

Absolute, as a renowned provider of renewable energy design, installation and maintenance services for commercial and industrial renewable energy projects, is also thrilled with the merger. Absolute director Tom Newall echoed Mr Ryder’s comments, describing the merger as an opportunity for the business and its employees to gain significant opportunities to grow and develop professionally. He went on to add that joining RSK will “enable Absolute to take its growth in the renewable energy sector to the next stage.”

Established in 2007, the Scotland-based business now has a UK-wide geographic reach owing to its connection to RSK, an entity with a presence on virtually every continent. Because of our inclusion with such a global business, we will enable RSK to take on large-scale solar projects from site finding and planning and consent through to design, installation and maintenance. The connection to similar businesses will also sharpen our capabilities to undertake our studies and fieldwork.

We will remain in collaboration with our clients, including Scottish Water, Exeter City Council, Edinburgh Airport, UK Research and Innovation and local authorities. The team will continue to deliver a variety of solar, wind and low-carbon heating services in conjunction with its supply chain. These include the design, supply, installation and maintenance of commercial photovoltaic solar panel systems, solar farms and wind turbines.

The business will join RSK’s Agriculture, Land and Property Management (ALPM) division under the direction of Ian Strudwick. Director Tom Newall will continue to lead Absolute.
