Bathgate Waste Water Treatment case study
The Bathgate site has successfully been equipped with 792 ballasted ground-mounted PV panels, designed to generate approximately 0.3GWh of green energy per year. This installation marks a significant step towards enhancing renewable energy adoption and supporting sustainability targets.
To ensure seamless integration, Fronius 50kW inverters were selected to optimise energy conversion efficiency. However, due to grid connection constraints, a tailored inverter solution was required to meet site-specific requirements. RSK Renewables collaborated with B-Gen, the original manufacturer of the site’s motor control centre (MCC), to develop a bespoke extension capable of supporting the new PV system, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
Given the unique nature of the site, extensive land preparation was necessary before construction. The soil’s highly corrosive properties required a specialist mounting system, and a ballasted solution was identified as the most suitable option. Ground specialists were engaged to carry out essential preparatory work to ensure long-term stability and performance.
Comprehensive surveys and studies were conducted throughout the project’s early stages to design a solar solution that met both site conditions and operational needs. Through strategic planning, collaboration, and innovative problem-solving, the project has successfully delivered a sustainable energy solution, contributing to sector advancements and long-term environmental benefits.
